When we are cleaning our clothes, the last thing we want is for them to get stained. Stained clothes can't be worn anymore, and it's a waste to throw them away. But don't worry, I've compiled a few tricks to remove clothing dye so you have to worry about staining your clothes again.

Trick 1: Soap + Alkali Solution Cleaning Method

  1. Soak the stained clothes in water for 10-20 minutes.
  2. Boil a small amount of baking soda and colorless soap in water.
  3. While hot, soak the soaked clothes in the boiled for 10 minutes.
  4. Take out the clothes and wash them with clean water.

Tips:

  1. Make sure to choose colorless soap, as colored soaps can dissolve in boiling water.
  2. It is essential to boil the solution as the alkaline molecules break down quickly when heated, effectively cleaning the dyed areas.

Trick 2: 84 Disinfectant Cleaning Method

  1. Put the stained in a basin.
  2. Pour boiling water and a suitable amount of 84 disinfectant (the amount depends on the area and depth of the dye).
  3. Let it soak for 15 minutes4. Rub the dyed areas and rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Tips:

  1. 84 disinfectant can only be used on cotton, linen, and polyester fabrics that can be bleached with chlorine. It should be diluted and bleach time should not be too long. Using it on unsuitable materials or improper usage may cause discoloration.

  2. 84 disinfectant has a bleaching effect, so it is best to avoid using it to soak deeply colored clothing.

Trick 3: Hydrogen Peroxide Solution Cleaning Method

  1. Put the clothes in a basin of cool water.
  2. Add hydrogen peroxide to the basin, with a ratio of approximately 1:10 water to hydrogen peroxide.
  3. Soak for about 5 minutes.
  4. Rub the dyed areas and rinse with clean water.

Tips:

  1. Do not directly apply hydrogen peroxide to the dyed areas or drop it directly on the clothes when adding it to the water.
  2. Hydrogen peroxide has a mild corrosive effect, so be cautious with the amount used when adding it to the water.
  3. Chemical agents can be dangerous in large quantities, so it is recommended to wear gloves throughout the process.
  4. Like 84 disinfectant, hydrogen peroxide has bleaching properties, so it's best to avoid using it to soak deeply colored clothes.

Trick 4: Potassium Permanganate and Vinegar Solution Cleaning Method

  1. Prepare a low concentration potassium permanganate solution and soak the clothes for 15 minutes (the preparation of the potassium permanganate solution and vinegar will be mentioned in the tips below).
  2. Take out the clothes with a dark red color and rinse with clean water.
  3. Prepare a small amount of low concentration vinegar solution and place the dark red clothes in it until the dark red color turns back to the original color (including the dyed area).
  4. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Tips:

  1. Low concentration potassium permanganate solution preparation: Dissolve 0.5 grams of potassium permanganate in about 500 grams of water at about 30°C (for laundry purposes only, do not directly touch the skin, wear rubber gloves during the laundry process).
  2. Vinegar, also known as acetic acid, can be purchased at a pharmacy but generally has a low concentration. You can get 5% acetic acid solution at a hospital (3% is sufficient for laundry use).
  3. The same as with other chemical reagents, it is recommended to wear gloves to protect delicate skin.

Trick 5: Laundry Powder and Dish Soap Cleaning Method

  1. Dissolve laundry detergent and dish soap in hot water in a 1:1 ratio.
  2. Soak the dyed clothes for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Rub the dyed areas with your hands and rinse with clean water.

Tips:
This method relies on the natural fading of the clothes' original color to reduce the color difference with the dyed areas. It is only suitable for clothes of the same color family.

Trick 6: Salt Rubbing Method

  1. Wet the stained area of the clothes.
  2. Rub edible salt or large salt crystals on the wet area with your hands.
  3. Wait for the color to disappear and wash with clean water.

Tips:
This method is straightforward but may take some time and multiple repetitions to completely remove the stain.

Trick 7: Baking Soda + Bay Leaf Cleaning Method

  1. Fill a basin with hot water and add 10 spoonfuls of baking soda.
  2. Cover the clothes with bay leaves and leave overnight.
3 Take out the clothes the next day and rinse with clean water.

Tips:
Baking soda enhances the bleaching power and can be mixed with various methods for better results.

Trick 8: Vinegar Cleaning Method
Apply edible vinegar the stained area, wait for 10 minutes, then wash with soap. The stain will be clean and leave no residue. When using this method, it is essential to ensure that the stain on the fabric does not sit for too long. It is best to clean it immediately on the spot to ensure thorough cleaning. Most importantly, for white clothes, it is best to use white vinegar to avoid leaving vinegar marks.

I hope these tips help you effectively remove clothing dye stains!
